What are SitByCare phone numbers and how do I use them?

SitByCare numbers allow clients and Health Sitters to call and text each other while keeping their actual phone numbers private. Unique SitByCare numbers are assigned to each Client/Health Sitter relationship. Once you’ve established a conversation with a Health Sitter or Client, the Rover number for that relationship will remain the same, no matter how many bookings you have with the Client or Health Sitter.

Tip: To contact a SitByCare number, you must call or text from the number listed in your SitByCare account. To update or add a phone number, go here.

Where can I find a Health Sitter or Client’s SitByCare number?

Everyone has the option to enable calls to their SitByCare number, pre-booking, only after booking, or never. It all depends on the person. The SitByCare number will be on your conversation page with that individual:

1. Navigate to your Inbox by selecting the envelope icon.

2. Select a conversation in your inbox with the person you want to contact.

3. Under SitByCare Number on the left, you’ll see their SitByCare number.

How do I edit my SitByCare number settings?

Updating General Settings

1. Navigate to your Settings by selecting your name in the upper right corner of your screen. Select Settings.

2. In the Notifications tab under Private SitByCare Number, use the drop down menu to choose when others can call your SitByCare number.

3. Select Save Settings.

Updating When an Individual Can Contact You

1. Navigate to your Inbox by selecting the envelope icon.

2. Select a conversation in your inbox with the person you want to update.

3. Under SitByCare Number on the left, use the drop down menu to personalize when this individual can contact you.
